Our purpose at Alcanza is to bridge the educational gap by connecting university professors with underprivileged youth across Latin America. Through partnerships with institutions, we translate lessons into accessible formats, empowering students with knowledge and opportunities that transcend borders. Our mission is to create pathways for learning that foster growth, inspire dreams, and build a brighter future for communities in need.
Who We’ve Worked With

Professor Semechah Lui
Semechah Lui is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). She leads the Earthquake Physics Lab at UTM, which focuses on the physics and mechanics of earthquakes and faults, and their associated hazards, with the goal of developing physics-based earthquake models and methodologies that can contribute to seismic hazard mitigation and earthquake prediction. Semechah completed her Ph.D in seismology at the California Institute of Technology and B.Sc in geology at the University of Michigan.
